The big sur marathon offers a chance to experience dramatic landscapes along highway 1 while tackling a challenging course. Every year since my car accident in 2010 this has been my annual fundraiser for caregiving and physical therapy costs. The 12k is an out and back course from the marathon finish that includes a loop through the beautiful point lobos state natural reserve. The course reopens to traffic at 1 00 pm an approximate 6 hour course limit just over a 13 45 pace per mile.
